Clash of the Carolinas puts local soccer players up against NC all-stars

This Saturday, the best soccer players in South Carolina will go up against the best players in North Carolina--and a few local athletes have the honor of being involved.

Wando goalkeeper Amelia Henderson is definitely an all-star--she's one of the best goalkeepers in the state, having allowed only two goals during her team's run to the Class AAAA state championship in 2010--which is a state record, by the way.

But Henderson isn't the only Lowcountry player to make a stand on the field this Saturday. Hear high school teammate Annie Peeples will join her, along with Bishop England all-star Kate Twohig.

See these ladies' final appearance as prep players during the Clash of the Carolinas on Saturday, July 9th, at 1 p.m. The event continues with the boys game at 3 p.m. and a USF Pro American Division match between the Charleston Battery and Orlando City at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the gate.
