North Myrtle Beach's Nash Field is now the official practice site of the Myrtle Beach Football Club Mutiny and there will be a free exhibition game on April 25, 2012 at 8 p.m.

Nash Field, located on Possum Trot Road in North Myrtle Beach, is now the official practice site of the Myrtle Beach Football Club Mutiny, a new professional soccer team along the Grand Strand. This winter, the team spent time touring the Grand Strand, visiting fields in Conway, Socastee, Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach for try-outs, training camps, and practices.

"It was important for us to go all around and be the team of the Grand Strand," said Myrtle Beach Football Club President, Trym Hogner. "It gave people a chance to see us come to form, but as we neared the start of our season, we wanted to have a home base, so that our fans would know where to watch us train. Our partnership with the City of North Myrtle Beach has us excited about the future."

According to Hogner, the crown on Nash Field, its drainage, the thickness of the grass, and all other aspects were among the features that convinced the team to adopt it as their official practice site.

"Some of the club's players have performed on premier fields in several other countries and they remarked that Nash Field was the nicest field they had ever been on," said Myrtle Beach Football Club CEO, Tristan Patterson. "That spoke volumes for us and meant we needed to make Nash Field in North Myrtle Beach our official practice home for the summer."

"We are glad to be directly involved in the growth of professional soccer along the Grand Strand," said North Myrtle Beach Athletic Director Matt Gibbons. "We look forward to a long association with the Myrtle Beach Football Club Mutiny and encourage all who live in and visit Horry County to support this initiative."

To celebrate the new partnership, the Myrtle Beach Football Club Mutiny and the City of North Myrtle Beach are offering the public a free game on April 25.  Game time is 8:00 p.m and this friendly exhibition will be the final home pre-season scrimmage before the May 5 kickoff, when the Mutiny play Rocket City United at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
