Update January 18, results: Unfortunately it seems the cards just weren't there for the Cougars as the lead slipped away in the final minutes and the College of Charleston fell 91-88.

Live 5 News has a nice video summary of the game and The Post and Courier has a write-up.

Meanwhile CofCSports.com has a factual write-up and box score.

First reporting: Conference supremacy will be on the line as the College of Charleston men’s basketball team (12-5, 5-0) travels to Chattanooga (10-8, 6-0) tonight for a North versus South battle of unbeatens in Southern Conference play.

Tipoff between the Cougars and Mocs is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised regionally on CSS. CofC and UTC are both currently on a three-game winning streak – the Cougars with victories over Furman, defending league champion Wofford and a recent 21-point rout of The Citadel (87-66) on January 15th. They currently lead the league in scoring offense (76.2), field-goal percentage (47.6) and blocked shots (4.0), while Chattanooga is tops in holding opponents to just 32.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc this season.

Both the College of Charleston's official Athletics page and The Post and Courier have solid write-ups on tonight's battle of the unbeatens.
