Chinese New Year Gala celebrates the Year of the Ox

Come celebrate the Year of the Ox and eat tasty things on Sunday, January 25, from noon to 4 during the Chinese Association of Greater Charleston's Chinese New Year Gala.

This exciting community-wide festivity is the most exciting event in the local Chinese community in the greater Charleston area. This year, we are having the party on the New Year’s Eve (New Year Day in China ).

You are cordially invited to join us in celebrating the 2009 Chinese New Year “the Year of OX”. The Spring Festival celebration organized by Chinese Association in Greater Charleston (CAGC) is the most exciting event in the local Chinese Community.

Activities: Traditional lion dance, Chinese folk dance and music followed with a banquet with delicious Chinese foods, plus numerous door prizes (from free T-shirt to massage)!

The event is free for members, or $15 for adults, and $5 for kids age 7-12.

They're holding it at C.E. Williams Middle School at 640 Butte Street in West Ashley.
