While there's been no official announcement, College of Charleston sophomore and West Ashley High graduate Amber Caparas appears set for season 9 of American Idol.

It's not entirely clear when Amber gets her "ticket to Hollywood," but I suspect that moment may air tonight, January 13, during the Atlanta auditions. 

Amber is the daughter of Wayne Caparas who is an actor / writer / singer / songwriter himself. Her connections to the industry have caused some stir that she might be a "music industry plant."

The singer and writer is also a track and field runner for the College of Charleston.
