The Post & Courier's Preview is dead.

Just in time for Spring, the weekly entertainment publication will be reborn as Charleston Scene, a full color entertainment publication focused on local theatre, art, music, food, movies, poetry, fashion, graphic design, culture and Charleston events.

Marcus Amaker, the publication's editor, released a video and Facebook note this morning confirming rumors that have been swirling since early December. According to Amaker, the publication will be twice it's former size (60+ pages) with new guest columnists, party photos, reader write-ins, and features. In addition, readers can look forward to a new web site with videos, photo galleries and social media connections. Lastly, it looks like there will be accessible paper racks so you can actually find the thing.

As you know, any Charleston endeavor wouldn't be complete without a launch party. Charleston Scene's official celebration soiree will be March 11th at Fish downtown.

Update February 2: Preview has posted the official announcement to their Web site.
