Get ready to smile and wave, gorgeous!  Nominations are being accepted for both the Mr. Myrtle Beach and Miss Myrtle Waves pageants.

On June 30, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the first ever Miss Myrtle Waves will be chosen at Myrtle Waves water park.  This pageant is open only women between the ages of 18 and 27 who are residents of Brunswick, Horry, and Georgetown counties.  If you're interested, have a look at the application.  It requires contestants to prepare several looks, as well as a talent act, however the event is meant to be casual and fun.  Call (843) 918-8725 with questions.

The Mr. Myrtle Beach pageant benefits Katie's Project, a local non-profit working to provide formal wear for students wishing to attend proms and other events requiring such attire.  Nominees must raise at least $500 in votes, prepare a talent, and participate in a Q&A session among other requirements.  The pageant will be held on September 15, 2012 at Revolutions, Broadway at the Beach.  Nominations (for yourself or someone else) are being accepted online.  All participants must be 21 or older.
