Just Waiting for Someone to Come Along
Update 5-7-11 Rocky here, took my son up to Apocalypse Comics to get some free comics and he loved it! Also scored a sweet Green Lantern Power Ring!
My son is four and today was the first time he has ever been to a comic book store. To say he was overwhelmed is a bit of an understatement! All his favorite things: toys, superheros and cartoons. There were a lot of families there bringing the kids out.
At Apocalypse they had a lot more than just the free comics to offer. They were also giving away all the different colored Power Rings, little toys, prints by local artists, book marks, posters and more.Free Comic Book day lasts till 5 p.m. -and until supplies last.
Check out the Free Comic Book Day event page for Corsair Comics on Facebook.

Of course the Mystery Machine was there....
Yeah....I've been wanting one of these since I was a kid!
First Report 4-25-11 Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops.
Free Comic Book Day is held the first Saturday in May each year. This year that date is May 7, 2011. While each shop has their own policy on how many free comics you can receive, you will receive at least one free comic if you enter a participating shop location.
The first Free Comic Book Day event was held in 2002. It has turned into an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores. Thousands of shops around the world have given away millions of free comic books to interested readers to help spur intreast. The event is to help raise awarness and intrest in an original American art form.
