Freshfields Village celebrates Spring with Free Concerts, Easter Festivals on the Green

JOHNS ISLAND, SC - Freshfields Village celebrates the return of spring with live music and annual Easter Festival, March 26 through April 9. The festival combines live music, art and more in what has become an annual rite of spring at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook, and Johns Islands. All events are free and open to the public.  

Friday, March 26 - 6pm to 9pm - Chris Crosby kicks off the Village’s Spring Concert Series with light jazz mixed with rock and roll. Chris and his ensemble will take the stage at 6pm this Friday night until 9pm. Check them out at www.chriscrosbymusic.com.  

Friday, April 2 -  6pm to 9pm - The Spring Concert Series continues with Coconut Groove Band, which offers an array of easy listening, rhythm & blues, funk and even a little “Island” music to get the party started. Sample their music at www.cgb1.com

Saturday, April 3 - 10am to 2pm - The Village will host its family-friendly Easter Festival with jump castles, crafts, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and more.  Visit between 11am and 2pm to participate in an interactive musical performance with John Cusatis and his “band” of washboards, tambourines, bongos and more. Artwork from the Kiawah and Seabrook Island Artist Guild will be on display throughout the day with artist demonstrations scheduled in variousVillage galleries.  Food and beverage will also be available during the festival. 

Sunday, April 4 - 9:30am to 10:00am - Calvary of the Sea Islands Church will host an Easter Sunday service on the Village Green.  Refreshments will be provided by Java Java during the service, but be sure to follow us to Hege’s for Easter Brunch. Everyone is welcome! 

Friday, April 9 - 6pm to 9pm - Shrimp City Slim will wrap up our Spring Concert Series with a perfect blend of post-modern blues and various Carolina coastal tunes. A Lowcountry favorite, Gary Erwin and his band will perform an incredible series finale. Preview his music at www.shrimpcityslim.com.
