Howl-O-Ween Extravaganza & Adoptathon to benefit Horry County Animal Care Center

The Friends of HCACC (Horry County Animal Care Center) will hold its first Annual Howl-O-Ween Extravaganza and Adoptathon on Sunday, October 28, 2012.

The event will begin at noon and run until 4 p.m. at Coastal Canine Dog Sports, 3254 Holmestown Road, in Myrtle Beach, to benefit the Horry County Animal Care Center / Friends of HCACC, Keep Our Pets Food Bank and Castaway Paws Rescue. 

The Horry County Animal Care Center along with Castaway Paws Rescue will be on hand with numerous homeless pets who will be available for adoption at the event.  

Event festivities kick-off at noon followed by dog sports demonstrations, including weight pull, at 1 p.m.  Costume and other contests will begin at 2 p.m. and will include a pet costume contest, pet and cwner costume contest, best trick contest and a Howl-O-Ween howl contest.  Doggie Weiner-Bob contests will be on-going all afternoon.

Hot dogs, chili and soft drinks will be available for purchase with the proceeds going to the rescues. Approximately twenty indoor booths will be located inside the 3,400 sq.ft. dog training facility and will be filled with numerous vendors as well the Friends of HCACC’s bake sale and silent auction tables, both of which will benefit homeless animals.

Nail trims by professional groomers will be available as well at the event with a $5 donation to the Friends of HCACC.  Donations of pet food, towels, cleaning supplies, paper towels, leashes, collars, laundry detergent, office supplies and newspapers will be accepted at the event.

Friends of HCACC is an all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue which works closely with the Horry County Animal Care Center in Conway, SC, to rehome strays and owner surrendered pets and strives to save as many lives as possible from the high-kill shelters in the local area.

 Coastal Canine Dog Sports is located in Southern Pines Plaza at 3254 Holmestown Road, Myrtle Beach, SC  29588 between the Affordable Suites Hotel and the Wilco Hess Gas Station and is the largest and oldest (est. 2009) indoor sports gym and training facility for dogs.
