Women Set to Gather in Charleston for Global Convocation Oct. 6-9

The Sophia Institute event challenges women to awaken their potential during weekend exploration in Charleston Oct. 6-9.

The Sophia Institute is welcoming women from across the nation for the second annual Women of Wisdom: Transforming Our Lives, Transforming Our World weekend convocation held in Charleston Oct. 6-9, 2011 at Ashley Hall. The event opens Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. with musical performances by Devaa Haley Mitchell and Charleston musicians Laura Ball and Ann Caldwell, followed by a pre-convocation intensive, Midwives of the Planetary Shift, on Friday, Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. This year’s convocation features renowned speakers Barbara Mark Hubbard, Joan Borysenko and Ellen Watson, women who are leading the resurgence that women individually can make unique global contributions by awakening the feminine consciousness. The convocation will also be available for live streaming online.

“The Women of Wisdom convocation is an innovative, co-creative experience,” said Sophia Institute Founder Carolyn Rivers. “Unlike a conference that is session-driven, we have organized the convocation to allow each presenter the chance to collaborate and build organically from an approach that is feminine, synchronistic and creative. It is truly going to be an extraordinary event.”

To register for a single event or the entire convocation weekend, visit www.thesophiainstitute.org or call 843-722-4186. Cost for the three-day convocation is $350. Live streaming registration is also available on the Sophia Institute website.
