The trials of being a bell ringer

The bell ringers collecting donations for the Salvation Army outside many area stores must contend with more than Jack Frost's nipping.
No, in addition to the occasional grinch, signs drop on feet and people snatch ringing bells when they're left unattended.

Still for any hardships many seem grateful for the opportunity to work after being unemployed for months.
