College of Charleston's funding for the new $58 million science center has fallen short.

The lack of funds has halted completion of second floor interior work, and is also stopping the College from addressing a serious mold problem in the old science center.

The College continued to build despite knowing that from the start, there wasn't enough money to complete to project. The building has yet to be named, so they're hoping for a very generous donor to pop up and save the day.

The Post and Courier has the story.
