Grand Strand Business Startup Grant competition accepting applications

The Grand Strand SCORE and The Sun News have teamed up to offer $10,000 start-up funding to one lucky entreprenuer.

The competition seems pretty open to any idea. The only requirements being that the business plan must start January 2012, be a sustainable idea, and located in Horry or Georgetown counties. SCORE will help you write the business plan for free.

Issac Bailey, columnist at The Sun News, has a nice piece to how the vounteers at SCORE can help someone manage $10,000 in start-up funding for a barbershop.

Think you've got the winning business? You can download the application or read more about the rules on the Grand Strand SCORE site.
