The Charleston Mercury has a great feature on Chuma Nwokike, owner of Gallery Chuma on John Street in downtown Charleston.
Nwokike's life story and gallery are both undeniably unique. Through hard work and a passion for the rich cultural heritage of the area, Nwokike has helped preserve and revive black art and Gullah history.
You can visit Gallery Chuma at 43 John Street.
