EVO Pizzera named best pizza by Food Network Magazine and Cooking Channel

Park Circle's EVO Pizzeria announced today it was selected by Food Network Magazine as the restaurant serving the best pizza in South Carolina.

A local favorite of foodies and beer enthusiasts alike, we here at TheDigitel wanted to be among the first to congratulate the EVO team on their new title!

Food Network Magazine embarked on a cross-country road trip to discover the best pizza in every state and highlight their discoveries in their September article, “50 States, 50 Pizzas” (on newsstands and mailboxes around August 9th). In addition, The Food Network will showcase EVO Pizzeria on the Cooking Channel special, Pizza Outside The Box, due to air August 21st at 8 p.m. During the show, EVO will be one of the top 10 pizzerias featured and will have some of their most innovative pizzas showcased during the segment.

Not sitting on its laurels, EVO has made improvements to its business, particularly in the kitchen. In June, EVO bolstered its chef management team by adding its first Executive Chef, Matt Russell. These achievements help set EVO apart as it continues serving customers with the best locally-grown food in the Lowcountry.

“Looking back to our humble beginnings as a mobile wood-fired pizza cart in 2005, it is exciting that we have built a successful restaurant from a concept that was uncharacteristic to Charleston,” said Matt McIntosh, EVO Pizzeria co-owner. “Yes, it was a risk, but with passion, hard work, and dedication anything is possible. We are so grateful to all who supported us then and who support us now. This a great honor to all of us.”
