Fish's lunch special pops up on the radar

Trying to think of where to get a good bowl of soup on the lovely warm, but crisp, weather we're having, I was debating between Fast and French's and Caviar and Banana's great soups, when an Internet message came across talking about Fish's $10 lunch special. And, behold, they had pho noodle soup. And the price included drink and tax.

I was sold. And I wasn't disappointed. The flavors were good, the service prompt, and though the outdoor area was slammed on this sunny day, the bar was large and spacious.

Fish is a spot I've been meaning to try for years, and they've recently emerged from a 10-week renovation adding an expanded bar and new dining area.

The experience was more than sufficient to get me to come back and try their dinner. And, I'm not alone in the recommendation.

And, since we just talked about Charleston's jazz scene, I should mention they have jazz on Wednesdays and Thursdays by The Charlton Singleton Trio. They also do half-price bottles of wine on Mondays.

They also use many local ingredients and participate in the Sustainable Seafood Initiative. Check out their menus online.

Fish is located at 442 King Street downtown.
