A Long Weekend: a Daily Meal write-up featuring Myrtle Beach

The Daily Meal, a food and drink site that claims to produce, "more culinary content than any other resource" has a feature on Myrtle Beach and our culinary offerings.

Written by contributor Kelly Alexander, a woman who hasn't visited Myrtle Beach since she was a child, but accredits that visit with her first taste of a cheeseburger at the age of nine, recently brought her family to the Grand Strand. The piece entitled, "A Long Weekend in Myrtle Beach" is an interesting read from the perspective of a foodie tourist that explored some of the Strands best places.

Alexander's Long Weekend had her and her family cruising the strip and visiting The Brentwood House in Little River, Lee’s Farmers Market down in Murrells Inlet and Mr. Fish in Myrtle Beach.

Alexander on Mr. Fish

This restaurant is a classic beach place with an attitude: You can get your fish and shrimp and oysters fried, blackened, grilled, or sautéed, like in any good sea shanty, but you can also get fish tacos, a "tower" of fried green tomatoes with fried shrimp, or a cup of smoky cumin-spiked chili with toothsome chunks of tuna filet.

Alexander and family also visited some of the beach's non-food related hot spots, but you'll have to hop on over to The Daily Meal to read their full write-up
