Last night I polished off EVO's Pork Trifecta in a casual sitting.
I mention this for two reason: To establish my love of eating greasy meaty things, and to establish my ability to eat. So when I hear the words "veggie pizza" I hear "not tasty and not filling."
Well Dell'z Deli's "Jazzy Pizza" is very impressive by my standards.
It's a 12-inches of "rice and beans on a tortilla shell, layers of cheese, spicy salsa, avocado, spiced up sour cream and mushrooms." For not having any meat, it's a very meaty experience and very filling -- I only made it through half.
The preparation was pretty good too, the tortilla base was crispy with a layer of plump rice and enough salsa and sour cream to keep it wet, but not so much as to turn into a soggy mess.
To make matters even better it's just $5.50.
This isn't the first time we've written about the new vegetarian-friendly downtown spot that stays open until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and if you haven't been there it's time.
Dell'z Deli is open Monday thru Thursday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dell'z is also open Thursday thru Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Dell'z is located at 1-A Cannon St. (allllmost the corner of King and Cannon streets) For to-go orders, call Dell at (843) 224-7566.
