The Charleston City Paper has a great piece on Fig's award winning chef Mike Lata.

Lata's dishes highlight the best of the Lowcountry, as demonstrated in his commitment to using farm fresh locally grown produce as well as the straightforward simplicity of his culinary creations. Lata's passion for perfection earned him the top award in the culinary world, the coveted James Beard award which honors the most talented chefs in the country.
