New steakhouse coming to downtown Charleston: Burwell's Stone Fire Grill

A new steakhouse is coming to downtown Charleston on Market Street.

Dubbed Burwell's Stone Fire Grill, they're aiming to open late summer on the Charleston Market.

Owner-operators will be John Thomas and Kenneth Emery and Charleston native Eric Huff will be the restaurant's executive chef and aim for a "modern steakhouse" vibe.

They'll be cooking with a 1,400 degree wood fire and 700 degree stone.

The pastry chef will be Mark Heyward-Washington.

In all it will be a huge 5,600 square-foot space at  14 Market Street. The restaurant will open daily from 11 a.m. to "close". Happy hour will run served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
