Raval is such a downtown fixture that it's almost shocking that anyone would not be familar enough with it to need a review. But The Post and Courier took up that torch, reviewed them, and was fairly impressed, saying in part :
Raval dispenses the tapas spirit with authenticity. Dark woodwork, flickering candles, mirrors and the vibrant artwork nail the tapeo vibe. ...

Tapas bars are social spots. They are part of a communal bar culture that feels very much at home in the Design District of Upper King.

They go on to discuss the atmosphere, drinks, and bites in a rather enticing manner.

Once again I've been reminded to return to this fixture that's just a few blocks from my house.

Go read it, then go eat at 453 King Street, downtown Charleston.
