First reporting: On Tuesday, July 19th, Taziki's Cafe Charleston will open its doors and start serving up Greek- and Mediterranean-inspired dishes on King Street.

A chain that originated in Birmingham, Alabama, Taziki's has twelve cafes spread throughout Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, and West Virginia. The newest addition in Charleston is  locally owned by restaurateurs Joe Norton, Ernie Masters and Doug Van Scoy.

The Taziki’s Cafe of Charleston partners have over twenty years of restaurant experience and are proud to offer locally sourced fresh ingredients from Limehouse Produce. Both lunch and dinner meals will be offered for under $10.

Taziki's is filling the spot of the former Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream and Sandwich Cafe at 306 King Street. Serving up lunch and dinner seven days a week from 11 am. to 9 p.m., Taziki's will also be offering a catering menu. Menus vary by location, but you can get a taste of what you're in for by taking a peek at the Chattanooga menu.

There is a Taziki's Cafe Charleston fan page up and running as well as a Twitter account. Follow along with either of those to get the most up-to-date news on the new spot.
