Mount Pleasant trees get a second chance in North Charleston

The Palmetto State's icon is no match for its rapid growth.

As Johnnie Dodds Boulevard is widened in Mount Pleasant many a palmetto tree are facing an end — but North Charleston is offering a second life to some 65 of the 20 foot trees.
