First Report 8/18: Observers in Garden City got the chance to see a Manatee yesterday.

The details are light but WBTW has some coverage. Officials from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are keeping an eye on things. Manatees are a threatened species that tend to turn up around docks near freshwater spigots. They also will venture into tidal rivers like we have around Horry County. The Sun News reported another sighting of a manatee earlier this month. Read that here.
