Grand Strand Halloween events for every age (Update: photos & blogs)

Update 11/1: So many events took place along the Grand Strand that we're now compiling a list of all those who posted pictures and some blogs about their Holloween Weekend.

We'll keep adding links.

First Report 10/24: The Grand Strand is buzzing with Halloween activities.  Check out our list of events.  Know of one we missed?  Add it.  The more, the scarier. 

We broke events up into three categories: for families, for adults, for everyone. 


Fun for families:

October 21st through 31st at Bass Pro Shop at Myrtle Beach Mall in Myrtle Beach - The Bass Pro Shop at Myrtle Beach Mall is hosting a plethora of Halloween events including crafts, marshmallow roasts, free photos, costume parades, trick-or-treating, and other goodies.  Click here for the full schedule.

Oct118ober 24th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m, Fall Festival at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach - There will be a Fall Festival at Healthfinders at Coastal Grand Mall.  Kids who come in costume can participate in a costume contest with prizes for different age groups.  There will be free pediatric podiatry exams, a Safe Sitter course registration, and information on allergies and asthma.

October 28th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wee Ones' Boo Bash at the Children's Museum of South Carolina in Myrtle Beach - The Children's Museum of South Carolina is hosting a not-so-scary Halloween party for little ones and if you come in costume you can get in for a $3 admission fee.  You can check out their site for more information.

October 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Boo Bash and Trick-or-Treating at Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet - There will be a party with snacks, bingo, crafts, a spooky movie and trick-or-treating!  Children are encouraged to wear their costume.  You can find more information here.

October 29th from noon to 5:00 p.m, Trunk or Treat in Myrtle Beach - The Christ United Methodist Church is hosting a huge Trunk or Treat in the parking lot of Freestyle Music Park where children can go trunk to trunk, gathering candy.

October 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m, Howl-o-screen in North Myrtle Beach - The Howl-o-scream event returns to North Myrtle Beach's McLean Park for a family-friendly event where you can paint a pumpkin, toast marshmallows, trick-or-treat, and more.  There will be zones that are scary and others that are scare-free, which makes this the perfect event for families.  For more information, click here.

Oct120ober 31st beginning at 5:00 p.m, MarshWalk Trick-or-Treat and costume contests in Murrells Inlet - Halloween on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet involves a costume parade and contest for children.  Kids can trick-or-treat from restaurant to restaurant, with judging for several costume categories beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Drunkin' Jacks.  Prizes will be given.  There is also an adult costume contest with $2,000 in prizes up for grabs beginning at 7:30 p.m.  For more information, including categories for the costume contest and rules for adults, check out their events page.

October 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Trick-or-treating at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach - Children can come in costume and trick-or-treat at participating stores.

October 31st, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m, Trick-or-treating at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach - Children are welcomed to dress up in their Halloween costumes are trick-or-treat from store to store in a safe environment.  Here is a link to their events calendar for more information.

October 31st, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Trick-or-treating at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach - Children can trick-or-treat from store to store, getting a free bag in the Lakeview Courtyard before beginning and a free ride on the carousel!  For more information, hop on over to their events page.

October 31st, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Trick-or-treating at the Market Common in Myrtle Beach - Kids can trick-or-treat in participating stores (there will be a balloon near the door), eat cake at Grand Cinema 14 in celebration of Happy Healthy Birthdays, sponsored by the March of Dimes.  They can also get their photos taken by Lindsay Mills Photography and download them later for $5. 


Fun for adults: 

119 Daily, with extended hours October 21st, 22nd, and 28th through 31st, Ripley's Haunted Adventure in Myrtle Beach - If you're into having the bejeepers scared out of you with live actors, animatronics, and special effects, this haunted house, located in downtown Myrtle Beach, is for you!  It's open daily from noon to 8:00 p.m. with extended hours on October 21st, 22nd, 28th through 31st from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m.  Admission is $13.99 for adults and $7.99 for children ages 6 to 11 years-old.  Children under six are not admitted.  You can find more information, including videos, on their site here.

Weekends through November 5th, beginning at 5:00 p.m., The Modern Warfare Zombies at the X-Sports complex in Myrtle Beach - Beware of zombies, they're everywhere!  This experience is inspired by the Call of Duty video game and features you, with a laser gun, taking down as many zombies as possible.  We've got a full write-up on the attraction, as well as contact information.

October 21st through 31st, beginning at 6:00 p.m., The "Boo"levard Show at the Nightmare Haunted House in Myrtle Beach - The Nightmare Haunted House is located near the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel and is filled with spots of total darkness, and shrill shrieks.  It looks pretty terrifying and to see more, you can check out their site.  If you want a preview, you can also check out their monsters.  Heck, you can even email them.

October 27th through 31st, beginning at 7:00 p.m., Terror Under the Bridge in Conway - Why go to a staged production when you can experience the real thing?  This warehouse on the Conway River Walk has been visited Ghost Hunters a few years back and detected paranormal activity.  It's an actual haunted house!  Tickets are $10 and a portion of the proceeds benefits Fostering Hope.  You can check out the Terror Under the Bridge website for more information.

October 28th, Halloween Bash at the Boathouse in Myrtle Beach - Radio Cult will perform and $3,000 in prizes will be given out during their huge costume contest.  Stay tuned to their Facebook page for more details. They also have a bit of info on their site.

October 28th, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Halloween Bash at Tavern in the Forest in Myrtle Beach - Food, drinks, candy, karaoke, and a costume contest with $500 in prizes!  DJ Ian Guerin is hosting a huge Halloween bash at Tavern in the Forest, located in Carolina Forest in Myrtle Beach.  You can get more details, RSVP, and spread the word on the Facebook event page.

October 29th, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., The Celebrity Square of Terror costume contest at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach - This one has some seriously money, folks.  There are $5,000 in prizes given out for the best costumes and admission to all clubs are free.  Check out their events page for more information.

Fun for everyone:

October 27th, 28th, and 29th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Conway Ghost Walk in Downtown Conway - Seven storytellers will share their spooky and humorous stories as you walk through downtown Conway.  Tours are 70 minutes long and tickets are $15 each.  Reservations are required and tickets can be purchased on the Conway Alive website here.

October 29th, 11:00 a.m. Ghost, Lore, and Legends Walk at the Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Ghost story author Will Smith takes you on a Ghost, Lore, and Legend walk on Ocean Isle Beach.  For more information, rattle some chains over to their site.

October 29th, 5:00 p.m. at the Ingram Planetarium in Ocean Isle Beach, NC - A Halloween-music laser lights show will take place in the planetarium.  You can see the playlist for this show, and all others, here.  You can find out more details about the planetarium and their shows on their site.

October 30th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m, Halloween Dog Walk at the Market Common - Come walk your dog and bring donations for the Grand Strand Humane Society as you shop in the pet-friendly stores of the Market Common.  Everyone bringing a donation will be entered for prizes.  Click here for more information.
