New chief of cardiac surgery at MUSC

Medical University of South Carolina's Fred Crawford is stepping down as chief of cardiothoracic surgery and is being replaced by John Ikonomidis.
Ikonomidis has been a professor of cardiothoracic surgery at MUSC and the surgical director of the heart transplant program.
