New Massage Therapy Center Lets Clients Pay
What They Can Afford
03.16.2010 – Charleston, SC – Massage therapy with a focus on
wellness is something Abigail McClam strongly believes in. Having
struggled with her own chronic pain in the past and finding relief
through massage therapy, creating a healthy space for others was at the
top of her priority list.
McClam opened Oné Respé
Massage Therapy for Wellness in October of 2009 in downtown
Charleston. Oné Respé (pronounced [oh-nay res-pay]) means “honor” and
“respect,” which is the foundation on which Oné Respé Massage Therapy
for Wellness was built upon.
“We believe in the benefits of wellness based massage therapy and are
dedicated to sharing our services with our Charleston community,” says
McClam.
McClam is proud to announce Charleston’s first sliding
scale payment program, which allows clients to pay what they can
afford for each session – no questions asked. For example, a one-hour
massage costs between $40 and $60, while an hour and a half massage
costs between $60 and $80.
“Massage therapy as a profession is continually evolving – by including a
sliding scale program my intent is to increase accessibility regardless
of individual income or healthcare coverage,” she says. “We want to
empower people toward making choices for massage therapy so its benefits
can be incorporated into their lifestyle on a regular basis.”
Oné Respé focuses on massage
therapy modalities like integrative, deep tissue / neuromuscular,
Swedish, pre-natal and reflexology massages. They also provide hot stone
therapy and organic body scrubs as additional wellness therapies.
McClam and other massage therapist, Perng Chen, are both Licensed
Massage and Bodywork Therapists nationally and in the state of South
Carolina.
