Two local schools receive National Blue Ribbon award

Mount Pleasant's Charles Pinckney Elementary School and Berkeley County's Howe Hall Arts Infused Magnet School found out yesterday that they'd been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.

The two local schools are two of only five schools in the state to receive the award that  honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools that are either high performing or have improved student achievement to high levels, especially among disadvantaged students
