MWV and LS3P collaborated to create a sustainable interior.

LS3P Project Achieves Highest Standard in Sustainability Pilot Program; New NEXTON Office Second in Nation To Earn Four Globes Designation

The first completed space in Nexton’s first Class A office building has been awarded Four Globes, the highest level of certification under the Green Building Initiative’s new Green Globes® for Sustainable Interiors rating system.

Home to MWV Community Development and Land Management, the 21,000-square foot interior designed by LS3P provides technologically advanced office and support space on the fourth floor of the 100,000-square foot office building.

“Our vision was to establish this office as a future-focused, sustainable business model for Nexton,” said Kenneth T. Seeger, president, MWV Community Development and Land Management. “LS3P helped us realize that vision with sharp architecture paired with powerful interior design planning.”

The space incorporates a wide variety of sustainable design strategies including daylighting, energy monitoring and reporting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, natural materials with significant recycled content, HVAC systems zoned for occupant control, and a high-performance building envelope with state-of-the-art glazing.

The project is only the second in the United States to be certified under the new Green Globes for Sustainable Interiors® pilot program. It is the first Green Globes® Certified project in LS3P’s Charleston office. Green Globes is administered by the Green Building Initiative in order to encourage and support sustainable design practices.

A joint venture of MWV and The Rockefeller Group, the building is the first completed Class A office space in Nexton. Portions of the building remain available for lease through Colliers International.
