On Saturday, March 21, some 50 volunteers turned up to help ensure the future of Folly Beach County Park by planting sea oats.
Sea oats, you ask? They're the long grass that grows in the sand and maintain sand dunes which prevent against erosion, prevent damage from hurricane flooding, and offer a place for wildlife to live.
The Post and Courier has a story explaining who and why, and they also have a swell little photo gallery.
