The rumor about a comedy club taking over the Stool Pigeons space has been confirmed.

Earlier this morning on Facebook the Carolina Improv Company posted the confirmation.

The rumors are true. We will be partnering with Carolina Comedy Club (formerly Stand Up Carolina) in 2013 at Broadway at the Beach in the former Stool Pigeons space.

The new laugh spot will be called the Carolina Comedy Club and other than this funny "Dark Mic Rises" graphic, that's all the information we have for now!

First Report: After a 15 year run, Stool Pigeons at Broadway at the Beach is shutting down.

We had received reports earlier last week about the closing and those sources also mentioned that the owners of an existing local comedy club may be taking over the space. But until that's confirmed, it's just speculation and rumor for now.
