HBO show Eastbound & Down premieres in February (Update: Live tweet #myrmen)

Update, January 31, 2012: HBO has just released the official season three trailer for Eastbound & Down.

The trailer is filled with more Myrtle Beach goodies and landmarks, also included is a part of a scene we watched being filmed months ago at BB&T field.

First Report, January 28, 2012: On February 19, 2012, we'll be able to watch Myrtle Beach become a star in the third and final season of Eastbound & Down. We've got the details below. Will local leaders appreciate the humor?

We've covered the involvement of Myrtle Beach in the popular HBO series for several months. Check out all the stories here. Local fans of the irreverent show are prepared for the brutally funny-yet-true portrayal of our hometown. However, will local community leaders appreciate the national exposure or will it be a step backwards to our heavily funded marketing campaigns? Even in the video above, the first description of Myrtle Beach is "redneck riviera."

According to BroadwayWorld.com,

Returning special guests on the third season include Katy Mixon ("Mike & Molly") as April, the mother of Kenny's one-year-old child; Will Ferrell as car dealer Ashley Schaeffer; and Matthew McConaughey as baseball scout Roy McDaniel.

The first episode, "Chapter 14" of the new season will broadcast at 10 p.m. on February 19. It will re-air at midnight and play again on February 21 at 9:30 p.m., and February 22 and 24 at midnight. On HBO2, you can watch on February 23 at 11 p.m. and  February 25 at 2:30 a.m.

Enjoying a new lease on his baseball career as the closer for the minor-league Myrtle Beach Mermen, Kenny Powers settles into a life of body-boarding, jet-skiing and hard-partying with his catcher, Shane. A detour to Shelby to attend the one-year birthday of his child reunites Kenny with April.

The second episode, "Chapter 15" will debut at 10 p.m. on February 26. It will re-air at midnight and again on February 28 at 10:30 p.m., and February 29 and March 2 at midnight. On HBO2, you can watch on March 1 at 11:50 p.m. and  March 3 at 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Pro scout Roy McDaniel arrives in Myrtle Beach to ask Kenny to mentor Ivan Dochenko (Ike Barinholtz), a promising young Russian pitching prospect. Stevie lays down the ground rules for his return to Kenny's team, while grappling with Shane and Kenny's relationship.
