Need a ride from Little River to the airport? It's only six bucks. They'll even pick you up when you fly back in too. All thanks to a new program from Coast RTA called Coast Transit Plus that offers high value with only a few restrictions.

You heard that right. Coast RTA provides this new demand-response service in their entire operating area of Horry and Georgetown counties. The fare structure is $6 for one-way and $12 round-trip per person. Of course, this isn't a super cheap taxi service and there are a few conditions that are surprisingly not too bad:

• You must enroll in the program by online application or written application (PDF file).
• You have to book your reservation no more than 14 days and no less than 48 hours in advance.
• The service is available only during the week from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.
• You should be ready to be picked up 45 minutes or so before your reserved pick up time.

Reservations are taken Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM by dialing (843) 488-0865 ext 230. Coast RTA General Manager, Myers Rollins, says this service turns out to be more cost effective than running large buses on fixed routes. "Our job isn't to fill empty buses, it's to make sure people get to where they need to go."
