New development to inhabit old Park Circle industrial site
Work is beginning on a new residential development near Park Circle in North Charleston. The 43-acre project uses the land and some former buildings of the old GARCO industrial plant.

The developer, the Beach Company, expects it to be two years before any units are on the market, so it's still a question how much the downturned economy might still be impacting then.

Perhaps most interesting is that a grocery store is proposed for the site -- and those are something sorely missing from the area.
