Despite recording their most successful year to date in 2009 and another month of record ridership in April 2010, CARTA is operating at more than $7 million in the red.

Veolia Transportation, the agency that supplies CARTA with drivers and vehicles broke the news yesterday during a monthly board meeting.

So what is CARTA going to do to rustle up those kind of funds?
