Local hotels cut prices yet still sell fewer beds

Charleston hotel room rates have continued to fall every month so far in 2009.
Read more stories on this subject in our occupancy rate topic page.The Charleston Regional Business Journal says the average room rate fell in April (part of Charleston's peak tourist season) to $127.67 compared to last year's $141.25 -- that's a nearly 10% drop.
