Charleston area ranked 10th in nation for economic performance

The Charleston area has been ranked the number 10 "Best Performing Cities" in the nation for its ability to create and sustain economic growth. The Charleston area recieved its highest marks for it's one-year job growth, ranking number 7.

Here's a bit about the index:
The Milken Institute/Greenstreet Real Estate Partners Best Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary and technology growth. The full report can be downloaded here.

The Best Performing Cities ranking depicts those U.S. metropolitan areas that are recording the top economic performance.

The Myrtle Beach area also made the top 20, but has fallen eight places to number 19.
