Four builders, four homes, one cul-de-sac and one week

On May 2, Construction Challenge 2008 aimed to get four homes up for East Cooper Habitat for Humanity in just one week. Luckily they had four local builders willing to throw in their time, labor and fixtures: John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, Structures Building Company, The I'On Group, and The J.D. Smith Company. Hundreds of volunteers also helped throughout the week to help push along the project off Joe House Road.

Habitat officials secured the land used for the homes in March 2007.

The Moultrie News reports the families receiving homes:

- Latoya Palmer who has one daughter, Dakeliah.
- Myriam Martinez who has two daughters, Gina and Laura.
- Sandria Collins who has one daughter, Kiyah.
- Allison Keane who has three sons, Cameron, Benjamin, and Joshua.
