Myrtle Beach International Airport sees record improvement (update: again)

Update August 17th: The folks over at MYR are giddy.

Not only did the July numbers beat our the record numbers set in June (see below), but the expansion project that will nearly double the number of gates is still on time and under budget for the 2013 open date. WPDE has more details here.


First Report: Myrtle Beach International Airport reported that June 2011 numbers for people flying in and out of Myrtle Beach beat out last year by record margins.

108,722 deplanements was almost 24% more over the prior year and the 102,082 enplanements is an increase of over 22% of the same 2010 numbers. For reference, all the previous months for this year have shown an average of around 5%. 

I'm thinking that the expansion project can't get finished soon enough.
