In a move that would finally get state lawmakers to come back and make tough spending choices, the S.C. Board of Economic Advisors is expected to slash revenue expectations another 4% for next year.

The expected adjustment would come October 8. The news follows the nationwide economic downturn and our own surging unemployment.

Update October 5: Governor Sanford is calling for a meeting on Tuesday, October 7, to discuss what should be cut from the budget. He has invited many state agencies to attend so they can make recommendations on what should go and what should stay. Sanford also said, those that don't speak shouldn't complain later.
