Dispute, phone call, and a fatality land a $1.75 million verdict

A dispute between a West Ashley renter and a property management company escalated into a phone call with a threat to evict, one that exasperated a 62-year-old grandmother who died just hours after the call.
Now the fallout of that situation has resulted in a $1.75 million lawsuit verdict, but against a now defunct company.
