Mount Pleasant Fire Department captain Robert Wronski was arrested on charges of driving under the influence on Sunday after he crashed a town-owned fire vehicle into a disabled car.

Wronski was driving on Interstate 526 at around 12:30 a.m. when he plowed into a car in the emergency lane with its flashers on. Inside of the car was the driver, who suffered multiple injuries to his back, neck and elbows.

Wronski is currently on administrative leave without pay.
