A political consultant to Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer and one of Columbia's most influential State House lobbyists was arrested on December 23rd and charged with driving under the influence and speeding.

An officer clocked Larry Marchant driving 47 mph in a 30 mph speed zone and shortly after pulling him over, requested he perform three field sobriety tests. Marchant failed all three.

Tsk tsk.

The State has the story.
