Graffiti on church unnoticed for weeks

The rear wall of the Greater Refuge Temple church on Huger Street was hit by vandals just prior to the Cooper River Bridge Run in April. The 10-foot-tall and hundreds-of-feet-long message that reads "STOP CHINA, STOP THE WAR" jumps out to those going up the onramp to the Ravenel Bridge on Meeting Street.

But it went unnoticed by the church's pastor for weeks as it is on the rear of the building and he rarely goes over the bridge. Estimates to remove the graffiti have been close to $2,000.

This is the second time the church has been vandalized.
