Update August 12:

A registered sex offender and friend of Alexis Laukaitis, Darold Lavar Drayton of Bluffton, has been charged with murder in the death of Alexis Lukaitis.

Evidence inside Lukaitis' car that led police to Drayton also indicates that the pair were heading to Charleston to illegally purchase prescription drugs.

The body of 27-year-old Alexis Lukaitis of Bluffton has been found along a dirt road near Ravenel after she was reported missing Monday night during a trip to Charleston. Making matters more curious her car has been found in Beaufort County.
