Authorities have arrested a man accused of setting fire to a Folly Beach rental home on Saturday evening.

Police arrived at 1713 E. Ashley Avenue around 5:30 p.m. and found the house completely engulfed in flames.

The suspect, William Whitfield III has been charged with second-degree arson and is currently being held at the Medical University Hospital. Authorities believe he may be connected to another house fire that took place recently in North Charleston.
