According to a press release:
North Charleston Police will hold a 2 p.m. press conference to announce the seizure of more than 450 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of more than $2 million dollars. The seizure is related to a pursuit that took place last night and ended in West Ashley.

Tthe press conference will be held in the first floor conference room at North Charleston City Hall (map).

Update 3:22 p.m.: NBC News 2 is the first to report, saying [some of] the weed was found in the car from last night's chase and it's the largest marijuana seizure in the city's history.

Update 6:35 p.m.: Live 5 News has their own update talking about how the weed was found in the van and back at an office building.

Also, we should add this bust pales in comparison to the 2,800 pounds seized at the port back in July (and other, similar big busts at the port). Oddly enough, it was said that was worth $2 million. Guess it depends on who you're busting from.

But, yes, port busts and office busts are an entirely different league.

Update August 25: Here's a round up of the latest. The Post and Courier has details on the surveillance and where the pot was found. They note that the North Charleston's Special Operations Bureau believes pot sales throughout the region are down as a result of the bust.

Also, the paper has a brief where the suspect is named.

Update August 27: Live 5 News and The Post and Courier report that Rashad Muhammad has turned himself in. He was wanted in connection with the bust.
