With a theme of “homegrown family fun with no sugar added”, the Museum’s 8th Annual Fam Jam festival celebrates the power of play as Marion Square becomes a giant playground to empower children and their families that being active is fun!  Families have the opportunity to take part in a series of fun-filled, outdoor activities and fitness demonstrations from obstacle courses to practicing golf with First Tee of Charleston and learning yoga with Yoga Benefits Kids to towering up a climbing wall and jumping around four jump castles.

Activity stations will be hosted by the Museum’s tri-county community partners including Blast 900, Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission, Charleston Battery Soccer Team, City of Charleston Recreation Department, Dance Moves, Family Circle Cup Tennis Center, Generation Move, Louie’s Kids, MUSC Safe Kids, Rehabilitation Centers of Charleston, South Carolina Aquarium and more!

And that’s not all!  Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. will welcome visitors to the event and emcee’s Carolyn Murray of News 2 WCBD and Brian Cleary of Y102.5 will lead demonstrations and introduce entertainers.  Families will listen to live music by the Electric Company, acoustic guitarist Chris Dorsel and enjoy performances by local student music groups, not to mention all the wonderful food and artisan booths at the Charleston Farmer’s Market

Admission is free for the event so bring the whole family!  For more information visit the Museum’s website at www.explorecml.org.
