Verizon 4G LTE has landed in #MYR
Verizon has announced today that starting May 17 the Myrtle Beach area will be a part of their 4G network.
This marks the first of the major four U.S. cell phone carriers to offer 4G service to the Grand Strand. While AT&T launched their nearly 4G service, HSPA+ last summer it is not a true 4G service. Verizon says that 55% of South Carolina's population will be covered with their 4G LTE network. LTE can have speeds up to 10X that of the current 3G technology. Verizon’s 4G LTE offers speeds from 5 to 12 megabits per second down and 2 to 5 megabits per second up. Of course optimal speed won't be available at all times.

Additionally, Verizon recently announced a home service for their 4G network called HomeFusion sure to put DSL and Cable providers on the ropes.
